Hello Eddy!

There was a curtis DC-controller with regeneration- the 1221R !
I put it in my Skoda-pick up!
Since one week the new owner can enjoy the features of this rare model.
Why did curtis stop the production?

In the USA almost all conversions especially the VW bugs and rabbits-golfs
use serie DC engines with no regeration during braking.

Here In europe all constructors (citroen ,peugeot) use seperated or shunt or permanent magnet motors which allow good brake energy regeneration.

I do not know if your skoda was serie or sep-ex.

Hello Eddy

I put the 1221 R in Skoda. When Skoda converted the pick-up 1993, the took a "Pinguin" controller, its was very loud, the regen did not work when I bought it.
