hallo allerseits :)

Hello Weiss

Yes I think it would hold, but remember, that none of the "shunt"inputs must fall, off.
then it will see 48v,and not the usually 150mV.
The chip on the platine, kan work with 36v,so normally nothing will happen
if one inptu falls off.

so go ahead and use it.

Alan, did You test the lowest voltage, at which the controller will work well?
I plan to divide four 12 Volt - Batteries into two halves and switch it parallel or in series.
For I do not think, that there is a DC/DC converter, the electronic may still work with 12 Volts only. Is that true?

On the other hand, there is a limiter at anywhere about 32 Volts. What does this mean for my plans?

Hello Bernd I´m not sure what you mean.
The Curtis controller, will work well on 24v,and has a shutdown around 16v.
Inside the curtis is just some transistors to reduce the voltage to 14v and 8v I think.which rest of the electronic inside uses.there are some voltage sensors which shuts
down the controller if you go below 16v and beyond 50v.
I don´t understand the last thing you write about the 32v limiter.

if easier, you can email me a drawing of your plan.

the dc/dc wandler (36--12v)is not happy for voltages above 50v,it gets quite hot.

That is fine, Alan, as a newcomer without an e-car, I do not know all details. Some cars have a limiter against deep discharging, so I know now, it is not a feature of the Curtis.controller...
Now I am shure, my plan will work well, to divide a batterie pack into two halves, to increase the range of the voltage, controlled by a Curtis of 48 Volts, up to about 80 Volts. I will do it by controlling the motor-current only, switching the batteries from parallel to serial, when the arithmetic voltage of the Motor exceeds about 40 Volts. Then the Curtis will control the supplementary part only. Switching by semiconductors, without any induced voltage.
Ich denke, als Däne verstehst Du auch ziemlich gut Deutsch? Ihr mit Euren bloeden oes und A°s...Sind ja fast so schlimm, wie die tysken üs,äs,ös.
