Hi. The bottom of my Mini-El, the plastic would like to revert to factory shape - a flat sheet of plastic before thermo-forming
The carpet does not sit flat like this and it's also very easy for water to get inside the sandwich construction as the grey plastic has cracked in the middle, center where the drain hole is.
I know some of you have extra batteries in the footwell and as such have drilled the floor for mounting them securely.
I was thinking about cutting a piece of sandwich plate (DiBond, alu, plastic, alu) that fits in the foot well and rivet it to the bottom, with the rivets going out on the bottom of the El inside the three indentations.
Is this a viable thing to do? I would then seal the new plate against the corners with some MS polymer to avoid water getting in under the plate.
Thanks in advance!

Hmm,
am not sure, but you have to consider that the sandwich construction in this area is veeery thin. You could have a closer look an the exhibition in Randers. There they have a model cutted in half and especially this part is very interesting..

I have been at the exhibition. I don't think maybe 8 small 5mm drilled holes in the bottom will make the El snap in the middle. The already very thin floor will be strengthened when i rivet the 4mm sandwich plate to the floor. It can only get stronger.Hmm,

The question was more, how did everyone go about drilling in the floor?
Is it? Tell me how the bottom of the City is built. I've never considered that it could be different, and i've never crawled under one to lookInteresting that the bottom of the mini El is different to the bottom of the city el
Ah, I see. Quite different. I guess they found out that collecting water to help it get out was a good upgrade when they made the updated mold.i got only a part of beyond
