I tried the software version 2.0 yesterday, but without success. The older version worked great, but with the new one it tries to connect, then connects for a few seconds with a few voltage and current readings followed by a repeating - Try to connect PSA - no sucess PSA - retrying cycles. ( do not have the correct words, sorry )

I will try it again today or tomorrow and will report again.

@steens : Many thanks for your effort!!

Best regards,

Markus

I tried the app again and now it is working almost flawlessly, just one reconnection after the error code readout ( i think it is normal as the communication purpose changed? ). i could not reproduce the faulty behaviour which i wrote yesterday, probably something with my phone.

Some things i noticed:

- recuperation current is still to low, the app displays -40 A whereas the real current is in the range of -65 A.
- after reopening of the app, the overall graph is shown ( only if app is kept in memory ) but then it focuses on the new readout without showing the old values.
I think this is not bad, but best would be if the app runs in background and still sends data to the bluetooth adapter, so there would be no missing data, one could check whatsapp etc. and still the onboard computer would run
and accumulate the charge current for proper % charge display
Further, if the screen is turned, there is no need to show the old data and then change to new data, the old data could be ommited.
- I have great interest about temperature of the coolant (battery temperature) , it seems there is just one readout and then there is no change anymore, but i am not sure.
- % readout besides the battery temperature are in my opinion the two most important values after current and voltage, this would be great to show additionally to the voltage and current readout.

Further improvements: If the app can run in background, a energy accumulation would be awesome! netto energy taken out, total energy taken out of battery , energy recuperated

Thank you so much for this app, it is really nice to see the values via smartphone app, keep on the good work!

I have included a video of the test and rotation behaviour, which is at the end of the video:
Checkelec v2.0 test

Best regards,

Markus

i am charging with external HP PSU, so no, not regen, but charging. i also think that regen current is too low, as with full regen at 50 km/h the regen current should be in the range of 100, but i only saw arround 70 via your app. i can recheck regen tomorrow, as from manual i know what current at given speed should be charged while being of the accelerator pedal.

oh, i got an idea what is causing the extra 2 seconds, it is sad if this cannot be changed, nevertheless your app is very useful anyway! :)

Reverse Engineering from Lexia is probably best, but without all the data fields this must have been a pain in the a55, great work!

Hallo,

Super Sache !

Bisten Dank an die Entwickler.

i also had this strange behaviour. Next time i tried the app everything was working fine. So maybe try to restart bluetooth or even phone just to be sure. Unfortunately i also have no glue what caused the app to work properly the second attempt one day later. Never had such problems with the old version, but now the new version seems as stable as the last one to me

Measured with Version 2.0, Berlingo standing at home (i.e. not driving):

- no problems with my ELM327 Adapter and bluetooth, stable connection to my Sony Xperia ultra
- charge current measured with shunt and multimeter: 14 A, measured by Android App: 13,7 A. Thats ok for me.
- discharge current example: shunt and multimeter 10A, android app shows around 6 A.

Will try later driving the car and with higher currents.
When going its downhill 13%, perfect for recharging.
When coming hone uphill 13%, with battery currents up to 200 A.

greetings, Roland

When you say "discharge current", do you mean during "normal driving" or "braking with regen" ? I know that in this last case the value is not correctly scaled. I will correct it as soon as I have the correct scaling coefficient value. Any measurements with Lexia and Checkelec to help to assess this coefficient are welcome ;-) !

Normally in other situations (driving and charging), the value should be correctly scaled.

Berlingo standing at home (i.e. not driving).
Left foot on brake pedal, right foot on driving pedal pushing down till current reads 10A. Its "Normal driving" (current) without driving. Motor and car are not moving.
Display: shunt and multimeter 10A, android app around 6 A.

Hallo allerseits,

coole Sache dies!!!! :spos::spos::spos:

https://www.fasttech.com/p/5897900

PSA-Himmel transportieren :).

@steens
from first view: Absolutely great job!
Thanks a lot for my greatest christmas gift for many years!

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Hello all, happy new year !

Maybe you already noticed it: I released just before Christmas the new version V2.1 of Checkelec app with following evolutions :
- Miscellaneous bug corrections
- Correction of graph bugs when rotating the screen (as described by Markus-106e)
- Correction of German translation thanks to Thomas (astromeier) und Andreas (Andi aus Bad Essen). Now, it should be less "strange" ! :D
- Russian language added (Thanks to DeLike)
- Croatian language added (Thanks to Marin)

Have fun ;-)

Oh, sorry, my mistake  ! I just mixed your pseudo with the one of "Andi aus Bad Essen".

So the correct item of the list of modifications was :
- Correction of German translation thanks to Thomas (astromeier) und Andreas (N-DEE_Andy). Now, it should be less "strange" ! :D

Hello all !

I released a minor version V2.2 with no new feature but bug corrections (less crashes) and display improvements (textsizes adapted to small and big devices). The update will be automatic.

You can also check the new website Der Link wurde entfernt (404). where you will find documentation.

Best regards
