One of my Min-El's I partially converted to City parts.
Last season I was using it without any rubber edge on the front due to limited space after having trimmed the hood a little bit, but this year I need to make it right, so I've bought brand new rubber edge for it and I've trimmed some more of the ood.
Now at this point I'm pretty close to the top of the headlamp assembly and without the rubber edge fitted, if you look straight down you can see trough the corner. At this point the rubber edge is squeezed quite hard and the corners of the hood is lifted 2-3mm higher because of this.
I've had a struggle to make the hood sit as flush as possible to avoid large gaps in the sides, so this is not wanted.
How does it look on a "proper" city in this regard? I know the hood has a little bit different shape because of the different head lamp assembly.
Is the right trick here to still cut 3-4-5mm more of the front so the rubber edge doesn't squish down so hard? I'm afraid the rubber edge ends up falling down behind the from headlamp assembly and getting stuck there.
Attached is pictures of the hood sitting without rubber edge and with an extra piece of rubber edge fitted on the front to visualize how its squished. If I fit the rubber edge all the way around on the hood, it makes creaky noises when I close it all the way because of the extra stresses put to the top. Not good!
