salve mi chiamo Christian e sono un nuovo proprietario di una MiniEL (1989-numero 1005) appena trovata in ottime condizioni-mai restaurata in garage..scusa ma non parlo tedesco..si parla inglese o italiano :).
Ho alcune prime domande .. e poi probabilmente tornerò con molte .. per favore sii paziente :)

Ho messo nuovo sollevatore idraulico per aprire il cofano..sono 600N ma sembra che non basti aprire facilmente il cofano e tenerlo aperto..quale esperienza a riguardo?
Ho bisogno anche di un documento di immatricolazione (scheda tecnica) della fabbrica originale per avere una nuova targa.. è disponibile da qualche parte?

Hi, thanks and sorry... I wrote previous email in english but having set my internet browser for automatic translation to italian... it translates also that I wrote!
So.. again.. My name is Christian and I'm writing from north of italy.. since I'm a new owner of a MiniEl (yr 1989 - number 1005). The EL is in good conditions.. and never restored.
Some questions:
I put new hydraulic springs for the hood.. the power of the old ones was 600 N so I use the same for the new.. but still opening the hood is not so easy and it doesnt stay opened. Which is the correct value?
I also need the original manufacturer matriculation document (technical fiche) to have new docs and plates. Is it available?
Last but not least.. as you can see from the picture I need original rear mirrors for my 1 series EL.. are they available on the market (new or used)?

Am i the only one italian EL owner?? :)

Hi Christian,
i don´t know wheter you are the only EL driver in Italy, but we did start a google map years ago. Here it is..

To get papers and manufacturer docs to get your EL on the road again, just ask Wolle here in this forum. He does have quite a nice collection of all papers..

You do have a MiniEL with a solid hood out of danish production, but 600 nm should be sufficient to lift the hood and keep ´em open. I own a cabrio by myself with 450 nm springs, if i am right, and this is totally enough power. And they are working since 2004. Let me ask this question in the Danish facebook group. Oh, and the two rear mirrors for a 1989 MiniEL, i will ask the danish too.

Could you send us more pics from your EL? I expect you to have the original pacific motor? This little blue one with only 1 kw power?

Hi Sascha and thanks for your quick answers!
Will try to understand how to add my location on that google map (I live in Udine, north east of Italy) and will contact Wolle for the papers.
I confirm to have the original blu motor.. and it works! Just put some car batteries to make a quick test before buying the EL.. still didnt test the battery charger.

Hi,
this is truely a little treasure you discovered, a very old MiniEL. With this early type of Ellert there have been quite a few issues and problems, e.g. the switch field, the conductors and so on. But in Danmark there are some specialists just for this early models (Alan Lyman).
I am sure we can help you getting your EL on the road again and have lots of fun with it.
Btw., in this forum we have EL owners from lots of countries like Danmark and Sweden, England and Holland, Suisse, Austria, Croatia, Poland, Czech Republik and more. We even had a contact to someone in Sardegna who owned 6 ELs just for tourist purposes..
If you need spare parts or further informations, let us know.

Non sono un specialista per il Miniel, ma ho riparato uno molto distrutto (fuoco di dozzine di fili) Il Traduttore per la lingua inglese e molto bene. Nessun problema di capire. Tu vivi in un regione molto famoso per ,stabilimenti per l'industria elettrica al tempo austriaco. Famoso e Carlo Rubbia di Goricia , vincitore del Nobel (Cern a Geneva).
Il mio amico italiano vive a Belluno, ma, credo che e difficile arrivare a Belluno con il mio Seat Mii-e?
Ho bisogno di corrente continua per la lunga distanza (CCS , combo).

Leute,
ihr versuchs mal auf Deutsch.
Hat hier denn niemand die korrekten Angaben zu den Haubendaempfern? Wieviele Newtonmeter sollten denn die Daempfer fuer ne originale 89er Basic-Haube haben?
Und hat niemand mehr zwei alte Aussenspiegel uebrig, die er an Christian verkaufen wuerde?

I try it in an aditional attempt, this time in German.
Folks, at least someone here should know the correct datas concerning the strenght of these hood lifting springs. How many nm should be sufficient to lift the hood properly?
And doesn´t anybody have two of these ancient rear mirror for an 89 basic hood to sell?

here a reply from Alan of Denmark:

for some reason I still cannot log in at ELWEB.The strenght should be 800n.BUT its much better to rebuild it like the ones in the cityel.when the 800n gets old and cold,they are not strong enough.also its a HIGH pressure to have out there.The mirrors are not availeble anymore.I am working on a replacement type.which are not adjusteble from the inside.I dont recommend the new type,bacause a hard bump to them could destroy the top,and crack it.Also VERY important,he must check the brushes on that motor.specially the low one.they must be able to move and not worn down.hope you can wirite all this to him

ICH KOPPEL MICH AN DIESER STELLE MAL AN;

ich hab dem guten man zwar alles möglich gemailt, aber ein solches ECE zertifikat fehlt noch in meiner sammlung also konnt ich ihm damit nicht helfen,,,
hat irgendeiner so ein ECE bescheinigung von der serie 1 oder eventuell von den thrigr der serie2???

Hallo,
ich glaube nicht, daß irgendjemand so ein Zertifikat hat. Es sind alle Els mit Einzelüberprüfung zugelassen worden, eine ABE gab es nie. Und zu Zeiten des Serie1-Els gab es m.W. noch keine ECE-Zertifikate. Vielleicht kann ja Herr Nestmeier jun. helfen, obwohl, die Serie1-Els kamen alle aus Dänemark.
