Hello Helge
I have done that.quite easy,but takes time.
I laid down the verdeckt on the hard top,and putted painting-tape(we call it that in denmark.you put it on the wall, when you paint)just under the edge, and drew a line along the edge on the tape.
then I removed the verdeckt, and measured all along the line how far more inside I want to make the cut. Here again I drew a BLACK touch line, and covered on both outside and inside(VERY IMPORTANT)with the same tape again.you will have to have someone measure how big the hole is,and how far from the windshield the cutting starts. My hole is a bit too big, which sometimes gives a problem when its raining alot.
the you drill a hole inside the cuttingline. With a jigsaw, which only moves up/down
not forward and backwards also(some machines do this)and with maximum speed
and a metalblade, you cut through the hole and along the the line.THROUGH THE TAPE,VERY IMPORTANT.the tape makes sure the plastic doesn´t crack "riss"and also
it makes the plastic not melt together.it does that if you don´t have the tape.
Afterwards I polish the edges with sandpaper, and install a --hmm dont know exacly what to call it,but a belt around the cutted edge,to avoid water coming in.
then I put on the verdeckt again and starts with marking up the top holes, and mount those and the verdeckt to them, and then works on with with the rest.
important here is two things.1-make sure the verdeckt is tight,as it will get a bit bigger when i oldens(that is if is is a new verdeckt)2-put alot of time into aligning the buttoms.you only have one try in mounting them.
good luck
Alan
